To be little and humble in imitation of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist and to be loyal to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
Founded in Switzerland in 1378, we are a small group of women vowed to Jesus Christ in poverty, chastity and obedience, living in community and serving in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph for over 125 years. As Franciscan Sisters we recognize our littleness, our sinfulness, that we are but clay in the hand of the Master. We recognize our noble calling by Jesus Christ to be His brides, though we are unworthy.
Living out this spousal relationship through a life centered in the Holy Eucharist, we have a special love and concern for our priests, the young, and the materially and spiritually poor. We serve through prayer, teaching, evangelization and material outreach under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We are witnesses to God’s provident, magnanimous love and care. In imitation of St. Francis we are continually seeking conversion to Christ and remain faithful to the Magisterial teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.
We are excited to announce that, though the covent and chapel must remain closed, the Good News Book Shop will open for curbside sales starting May 30! If you have books to buy, give Sr. Colette a call (816-252-1673) to order and arrange a time for picking up your book(s)!
Mass and Adoration
Masses at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel will be private until further notice.
"It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do without Holy Mass"
St. Pio of Pietrelcina
As gradual reopening begins, our adoration chapel will remain closed to the public. We'll re-open eventually. In the meantime, set aside a time and place at home for prayer.
You can participate in live stream adoration online.
